  2. This only brings up more questions than it answers . . .

  3. For instance, can we now declare victory and come home?

  4. seydlitz,
I for one am happy that the pope JP2 is dead.
    Will UBL be canonized also?
I won't believe he's dead UNTIL I SEE THE DEATH CERTIFICATE. LONG FORM.
If he's dead will the world be any safer?

  5. sheer,
This is a 2nd post. It was lost, so excuse if it shows up again.
I'm confused and incredulous that a Christian would revel and express happiness at any mans death. Are we all not God's children.
    Don't answer - i know the rattle.
I'll bet you cheered when SH was hung.

  6. Jim,

Long-form death certificate - that's the funniest thing I've read in a long time, thanks!

  7. Andy,
This opn proves the futility of COIN and all the bullshit upon which we based the PWOT.
WE DID NOT SHARE INTEL, AND KEPT ALL NOFORN AND BLOCKED THE PAKIS from the loop.
This proves the unilateral aspect and our isolation in a hostile region.
Why do we even pretend that any of these ass holes are allies?
The opn was successful in the operational sense, but strategically it shows that we must violate other countries sovereignty to run our quasi legal man hunts. What legality allows us to run raids in another country without their cooperation?
    Doesn't this violate COIN theory?
Will this action destabilize the current Paki gov't?
Will this decrease T against the US?
IMHO it's pissing up a rope.
Feel good is not necessarily a good .
If killing people is our improved version of humanism , then how are we distinguishable from UBL?
    Buried at sea- how convenient.

  8. To all,
My cmt previously was to Sheer and not seydlitz.
I am really not cool with this happy jack bullshit about UBL and celebrating when we should be evaluating the whole ball of wax.
When it takes 10 yrs to find a scum ball criminal, and then not even being able to arrest him, yes ARREST not capture then i question the claim that we are a super power, or even that the PWOT is legitimate. Think about it before you rejoice. Why was the team military, and not law enforcement? Further how can Obomba say that justice was done? Murder/killing was done and that's a long shot from justice. Have we reverted to an eye for an eye? If so let's shit can Christianity and head back to the gods of vengeance and war. Lets make Obomba a warrior king instead of a C in C. Christ was not a green beret contrary to what we hear.
Killing UBL was an act of frustration and lacks any significance. .

  9. Honestly Jim...I'm not happy, I'm not glad, and I'm not celebrating, either.

No...my sentiment is similar to when I got my ACL replacement surgery...good riddance to an old pain.
I won't miss Osama bin Laden one damn bit...just like I don't miss Jerry Falwell one damn bit...and yes, my sentiment about Mr. Falwell is quite close to my sentiment about Osama Bin Laden...with the caveat is that OBL conspired to kill non-combatants.
You think that you are the only one who doesn't see that charade of this shit?
You're not...I am not fooling myself one damn bit about "justice being served."
I called bullshit last night, and I still call it bullshit now.
But done is done, and I'm not going to cry a tear about what happened to OBL. The son of bitch went out of his way to earn this end...he got it.
However...and this is where my...intellect now kicks in...we goat screwed this one really bad.

He died a martyr's death...fuck him, but he said that was the only way he go, and I for one wished they had tranq'd his ass.
Brought him back for the trial of the century...but that is no longer on the table of us.
Done is done Jim...I'm already moving on...I want this lame excuse of a GWOT over...and I think OBL's death...well, I hope this happens....exposes the real reason why we're in Iraq and Afghanistan...we're a frightened little nation lashing out at anyone and anything.
More later as I process my thoughts.

What do MQ's grand kids equate to?
    Aren't/were'nt they civilians?
How in the fuck do we differ?

  11. "What do MQ's grand kids equate to?"

Another statistic, I'm afraid, of this foolish, pathetic foreign adventurism.
I first read your post about half an hour ago, and was thinking to myself, "fuck me, seriously?"
And then I found the article describing the death not only of the children, but of their mother as well.
I thought, "must be an accident...no...no it's not." rather they were purposefully targeted.

No Jim, there is no good answer...there is only the continuing misery of life being carried by the next generation.

War has never solved a damn thing...rather, it only increases the misery index, the suffering index, the body count index.

"How in the fuck do we differ?"

    We don't.
In training camps of Al Qaeda we were the victim, in the deserts of Libya the children are the victims.
A vicious cycle...we're far better at killing and rationalizing our murder than AQ could ever hope to be.
Jesus...purposefully targeting family compound...might as well have painted the kids with laser pointers.

  13. 'We treat them in the same way. Those who kill our women and innocent, we kill their women and innocent, until they refrain.'

'America is a great power possessed of tremendous military might and a wide-ranging economy, but all this is built on an unstable foundation which can be targeted, with special attention to its obvious weak spots. If America is hit in one hundredth of these weak spots, God willing, it will stumble, wither away and relinquish world leadership.'

“We did not find it difficult to deal with Bush and his administration, because it is similar to regimes in our countries - both types include many who are full of arrogance and greed.”
“And he moved the tyranny and suppression of freedom to his own country, and they called it the Patriot Act under the disguise of fighting terrorism.”

"Bush the father did well in placing his sons as governors and did not forget to pass on the expertise in fraud from the leaders of the region to Florida to use it in critical moments.”

    So then, who won?

Never let it be forgotten, WE armed, trained and funded these people in our Glorious War against International Communism.

  14. Sheer,
Instead of him rotting in hell, why not send him to Detroit, or any other blighted US city.
    This is hellish.
