The End of an Era Allows for a Graceful Exit . . .

To start let me say clearly that I am leaving MilPub. There are various reasons for this. Primarily, I have at least in my own mind always represented the "spirit of 1989" here, that is my experiences in Berlin at the end of the Cold War serving as a US military intelligence officer. I have always seen that time as perhaps the most important event of my life in terms of geo-politics. The era that started with the fall of the Berlin Wall, a time of great hope and endless possibilities is now over. Cynically betrayed by the "rulers" of my country, this great historic opportunity is now behind us and a new time of troubles and self-interested induced chaos comes forth. While I have the greatest respect for my fellow posters here on MilPub and thank them for their support and the great dialectics we have formed in the past, that all belongs to the past era. From a strategic theory perspective, since the US is the epicenter of the crisis, and information operations roll on unceasingly, the very language of our political community loses all meaning. With the loss of the ability to communicate, moral and material cohesion dissolve. Given similar historical examples, this will end in a very deterministic fashion and be much different than our "rulers" anticipate. Pity the country, pity humanity.
The archives of this blog represent a lot of useful thought and should be retained. I ask that should the posters decide at some point in the future to end the blog, they contact me in advance in order that I save some of the threads for future access. Good luck to my former fellow posters and our loyal readership. I am contactable at seydlitz89@gmail.com.
