Found this other article about a Security Conference he attended, saying it was a "Golden Lobster lapel pin, an honour bestowed on him by the Halifax Canadian Club." It was also worn by other attendees including US Senator bomb-bomb-bomb-Iran John McCain.
Canada has allowed turbans etc. for more than a couple of decades. It works well.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, our Defence Minister is a baptised Sikh. He wore a turban and beard while he fought the Taliban in Afghanistan.
And they have been allowed here for Sikhs for a while. I have no problem with it.

What lobster pin? The pin he wears in a number of pictures looks like a Maltese cross to me. Likely his Order of Military Merit.

DeleteAh, looks like camouflage to me. Likely marks him as owned by the arms merchant guild. I see his OMM pin above the Red Lobster.
DeleteAll the legitimate concerns about beard and turban not being compatible with helmet and NBC mask can be solved with hardware adaptations.
