A Matter of Appearances

The "new look" MilPub has been in place now for several weeks; I'd like to sound out the readership - what do you think of it?

I will admit to finding the new "magazine" style a little busy; it isn't quite as simple to scroll down to older posts. As a graphic I think it's quite eye-catching, tho. But that's just me?

How's it working for you all?

  1. I have grown accustomed to change in web based forums. So far, so good.

  2. I don't like it.

    I can adapt, however.

  3. I favor the sidebar format. I am not a fan of the 'classic' format where scrolling can be a pain if posts are long.

  4. Hard to say . . . I guess I can deal with it . . .

  5. Not a fan but it could be worse.

  6. Something in this new design collides with the Ghostery plugin in a way that it's not fully functional. I cannot access older posts, and Ghostery doesn't offer the usual window to issue permissions.
The problem is with some "Google friendconnect" and another google service.

  7. Huh, I get MilPub through an RSS reader so didn't even no there was a change...

  8. I gotta admit; the only thing I really miss is the old header with the crusty 1960's NCO Club. But other than that the only issue seems to be that the new format seems fussy about logging in to comment,

  9. I miss the header photo, too. We are The Pub, after all. I like simplicity in most things ... Danish Modern, Craftsman, classic Blogger.

Tho' we can still choose "classic" from the header, we have lost our iconic photo.

    Not a fan.

  10. Tried to bring back the old look but I did something wrong. Any ideas?

  11. Let me see if I can do something, mike. We may have to go back to the new format. Like I said, I don't love it but it looks better than it does now...

  12. I can't find the old template. This is as close as I can come. I don't particularly like the colors. Frankly, my vote at this point is to go back to the new magazine format and move on. What does the rest of the readership say?
